The Challenge

In designing a home for a world‑class ballet company, several tensions needed to be resolved:

• Balancing openness and transparency with the need for quiet, private conversations
• Integrating acoustic pods into a building that emphasises light, textures, and visual harmony
• Creating pods whose colours, materials and finishes align with the overall architectural and interior scheme
• Minimising disruption during installation in a functioning space

Our Solution

We implemented a series of acoustically engineered meeting pods and video call pods. Key features included:

• Custom palette: grey interiors that complement the industrial concrete backdrop, with red accents referencing the drama’s artistry
• Use of glazing and transparent elements to maintain sightlines and daylight
• High acoustic insulation to contain conversations and reduce ambient noise
• Harmonious integration of pods into the visual and material language of the building
• Efficient, modular installation that respected the operational needs of the National Ballet’s office

This blend of design and performance turned each pod into a discreet sanctuary and a feature in its own right.
